Jakob Banks is a 26 year old singer songwriter from England, originally born in Nigeria. I first heard this song while driving around with some friends on the radio, and we all immediate shot to our Shazam apps as the unique blend on rnb, soul and edm was undeniably special. After the almost “working on the train track” esq. clanging baseline drops into his deep soul vocals, the surprise of the edm bass and blues guitar perfectly grips you while more subtle piano chords round out the song to create one of the best songs I have heard in a fucking minute. With now more than 4 million plays on Spotify, it looks like I may not be the only person too have realized how good this song is, but I am happy to start this blog with such a genre blending piece.
